Easy as Cake

Have you ever baked that perfect cake only to scream in anguish when you try to remove it from the baking pan but it falls into two halves.  Well if you are too shy to admit it, I will.  I have done this too many times to count.

Most people know to let the cake cool and then to delicately invert it onto a plate but here’s a new trick to use:

Cut a round of parchment paper to the size of the bottom of the cake pan–which can easily be done by tracing around the pan and then cutting with scissors.  Next insert the paper inside the pan.  Grease the pan and the new parchment bottom as if they were one dish and then add your batter.

You will notice just how easy it is to remove the cake.  Friends will ask how your sweet treats turn out so perfect.  You can just smile and say “baker’s touch.”
